Through it All, He’s Faithful

~Achsah Lijo

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2

As I was reading this verse, I felt a strong urge in my heart to share a few words that brought me deep comfort. This promise from God has strengthened me in ways I cannot fully explain. I found myself returning to it again and again, letting it settle into my heart.

Sometimes, what we face in life feels like powerful waves rushing toward us, tides that seem too strong to stand against. We struggle to move forward, feeling as though we might be overwhelmed at any moment. But when I look back on life, I see so many testimonies. There were times I truly felt like the waves would overtake me, yet God never let that happen. He was always there, holding me steady and carrying me through. Even in seasons that felt like fire, He did not let me be burned.

I know many who read this have had moments where you wondered how you would make it through, yet because of God’s faithfulness, you did. The truth is, God never promised us a life without pain, struggles, failures, or hardships. But He promised that He would be with us and lead us through every single one of them.

In Isaiah 42:16, it says: “I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.”

This verse reminds me that “blindness” is not only physical; it also reflects those seasons where we simply cannot see or understand what lies ahead. Though the journey may be difficult, the destination God is leading us toward is beautiful. We find ourselves in unfamiliar places we never planned for, walking through situations we never expected, and facing days that feel heavy and dark. Yet even there, God is guiding us. Every unfamiliar path is known to Him. Every dark place is already being touched by His light. Even when we cannot see clearly, He is leading us with purpose and care.

No matter how difficult today may feel, we can trust the Author of our lives. Our hope rests not in our circumstances, but in His promises. So let us continue to pray, to wait, and to hold on to Him. This season will not last forever. The same God who walks with us through the waters and the fire will also lead us into brighter and lighter days ahead.

Heavenly Father, thank you for being with us in every season. When we feel lost & uncertain, help us to trust Your guidance and hold on to Your promises. Strengthen our hearts, bring light into our darkest moments, and lead us into the peace and hope that only You can give. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
