Marcelo was born in Bulacan, Philippines and grew up attending church. He accepted the Lord and was water baptized at the age of 16. After his studies, he moved to Laguna, Philippines. While attending To God Be the Glory Full Gospel Church, he desired to know more about Jesus Christ and underwent discipleship and attended courses on church planting. In December 1998, he got married to Beth and in the very next year, God used them to plant a church in their local village. Marcelo pastored that church for 5 years. In this period, he enrolled in a short-term bible school, International School of Theology (ISOT). The Lord twice gave Marcelo a vision that he would be minister to a multicultural crowd. While seeking God’s fulfillment of that vision, the Lord brought them to Dubai, UAE, in 2005, where he was able to serve the Lord under Vision Community Global Ministries for 7 years as an associate pastor.
In June 2012, the Lord opened the doors to Canada and revealed that this beautiful land would be his inheritance. While seeking for a church where he could serve God more, he was invited to attend ZAMIE in 2013, felt God’s presence and received God’s revelation from Pastor Anison. Since then, he continued worshiping the Lord here. During the 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting in 2016, a confirmation was declared for his desire to fully minister in the Lord’s vineyard through Katrina Subhkaram from Yuba City, California, who is closely associated with ZAMIE. In 2018, Marcelo became part of the Pastoral Council of ZAMIE.
In January 2019, a mission trip that also involved a Pastors & Leaders Conference was held in the Philippines headed by Pastor Anison and some others from ZAMIE’s missions team. God moved in such extraordinary ways that around 60 churches got connected with TAMI. This was a fulfillment of a vision that there would be a bridge that would connect Canada and the Philippines. Six months after, a follow up conference and crusade were again held in the Philippines where Pastor Anison and a team together with Pastor Alias (TAMI Vice President) ministered. Once more, God moved remarkably moved in those meetings – many Christians were revived and more churches got connected with TAMI. Subsequently, Pastor Marcelo was appointed by TAMI as the Mission Director to the Philippines.
Pastor Marcelo is happily serving the Lord together with his wife Beth and their children Mark and Christine, always having in mind and in heart that “He who began a good work in them will be faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
