This sermon explores the profound role of the Holy Spirit as our Helper, Comforter, and Spirit of Truth. Drawing from Jesus’s words in John 16, it examines why Jesus told His disciples it was to their advantage that He depart—so the Holy Spirit could come. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, Jesus’ righteousness and promises freedom from the powers of darkness. But the role of Holy Spirit in the life of a believer is different. He becomes an intimate guide through all of life. He leads believers into truth and the power inherent in that truth. He guides the believer away from the destructive spirit of lies.
