Prepared For The Master’s Use

Jan 14 2024 | 04:00 PM

How are we prepared for the Master’s use? Picture this. In Biblical times there were simple boats that were designed only to take short trips in calm shallow water. Anything more would ruin them. Other boats were fully ‘furnished’ with sails, rudders and anchors for long distance journeys in the worst storms. In the same way God ‘furnishes’ us by modifying us for the journey so we can do good works. How does He do that? He uses scripture. The word modifies us because, unlike any other book, it is living and active. To be a vessel of honour it means that we do not make compromises by listening to popular false doctrine. We must cut ourselves off from the gangrene of false teaching and be discerning in what we accept. If you come under wrong teaching, you are coming under an oppressive spirit. As we honour God’s word, He changes us and prepares us for good works. God commands. We listen. God decides our future.
