Four Kinds of Hearing – Part 1

The prophetic season is beginning. When God opens a new season, the first thing that happens is that the voice of God will be heard. You will sense directions. You won’t have to grapple in darkness. The word will come alive. God will send words based on His grace not on your prayer life or your character. When you hear His words, they will seem too good to be true. They will knock your socks off! But hearing God demands faith because, without faith, the word will not produce fruit. It is a tragedy when a word of God is fulfilled in your hearing but not in your life. When Jesus read from Isaiah, the people listening understood that they were words of grace that needed only to be received. But instead of faith, they mixed it with their natural thinking. The moment we start to see God’s word through the eyes of circumstances, we destroy it. The word may be good but we will not see it fulfilled in our life. In the Jewish mind hearing and obeying are one in the same. The western mind hears and then processes and then decides about obedience but Jewish people hear-obey. Then faith comes from the hearing and obeying. Faith is the result of obedience not the precondition.
