The Lord Is My Strength

~Dani Jacob

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him. Psalm 28: 7-8 (NKJV)

There are moments in our lives when we realize that we are at the edge and feel like there is nothing more we can do. It’s like being compressed by a big wall, and our inner critic tells us that we are done and there is no escape. The Bible teaches us to look to the Lord in such moments. He gives us the strength to face and fight mighty walls and break through them.

We confidently rely on God’s strength because human strength depletes too quickly. Human strength depends on earthly things, but they are not sufficient to make us spiritually strong.

But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 1 Corinthians 1:27 (ESV)

This verse vividly illustrates the story of Gideon’s life when God instructed him to select only 300 men for battle. As a demonstration of God’s power, He significantly reduced the number of men for the battle. In the Bible, numerous individuals and their circumstances were specifically chosen by God to showcase His immense power.

Jeremiah 32:27 (ESV) says “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?

The teachings in the Bible inspire us to have faith in the power of God to overcome the challenges and difficulties we face in our lives. It encourages us to trust in His strength and wisdom, knowing that He is greater than any obstacle we may encounter.

Heavenly Father, we pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ, as we navigate through life’s challenges. Help us direct our attention to the promises that You have bestowed upon us. In times of difficulty, help us seek solace in You, for You alone are our steadfast source of strength and refuge. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
