~Dani Jacob
He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:29-31
The context for the above verse is significant. Prophet Isaiah prophesied during a time of turmoil and exile for the Israelites. Whenever the Israelites turned away from God’s presence, they encountered significant challenges. Yet, it was God’s unwavering love that steadfastly drew them back, reaffirming His promises of divine strength. The Word of God contains numerous examples of individuals who have experienced the profound and transformative power of God in their lives.
Elijah showcased incredible faith in God and performed mighty deed, yet when faced with Jezebel’s threats, he experienced fear and felt overwhelmed. This reminds us that on our spiritual journeys, we may also face challenges that test our strength and resilience. Nonetheless, we can find encouragement in the Word of God, which assures us that we are never truly alone. His teachings serve as a source of life and empowerment, guiding us as we confront the giants in our lives.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
We must commit to this verse to memory and actively apply God’s word in our daily lives. When the enemy whispers lies, suggesting that we are weak or destined for failure, we boldly declare that Christ has become our strength.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the strength you provide during our various trials. We surrender our lives to you and believe that you are our great source of strength. We are grateful for how you choose the weak and fill us with your might. We believe and proclaim that you increase strength for the weak. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
