From Revelation to Glory

~Alex Wu

A light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.” Luke 2:32

this, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him. John 2:11

The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, John 17:22

Jesus is a light that shines upon us many times in our lives. When we were still “Gentiles”, His light came as a revelation to show our sin and reveal the truth about receiving eternal life in Him through faith. This is a great gift for us, but not the only gift, nor the ultimate gift. When we become “His people”, His light manifests itself as glory, not just glory in heaven but on earth as well.

Glory brings all things about God at once: word, wisdom, power, wonder… Let us expect His glory to come as miraculous provisions like turning water to wine at Cana (John 2:11), and greater miracles of healing and even raising the dead as Jesus did to Lazarus (John 11:40). These will happen more and more as we keep walking as His people. But there is a greater wonder for God’s glory. Instead of receiving His glory individually, we shall receive it collectively. When Jesus gave such glory to His disciples, He enabled them to become one as Father and Son are one (John 17:22). This is a precious gift for ZAMIE Church as we are a home for all nations. In the next phase of God’s wonderful work, we shall all witness such glory shining upon us and connecting us to nations around the world for the purpose of His Kingdom. What a wonderful journey awaiting us all! Give all praises to our Lord Jesus Christ who started with giving His revelation of salvation to us and continued with His never-ending glory upon us! Amen.
